YMCA Mission Preschool
San Francisco, CA

Project Description
BASE worked together with Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) and YMCA Mission in assisting with applying for funding opportunities from Cal Fire Green Schoolyards grant to upgrade and green the outdoor play areas.
The new play areas will have a natural look since the play structures are made off wood. The new garden at the play yard will have an edge of reclaimed wooden logs and stumps and children can experience it in a playful way. Kids also can walk barefoot on a sensory path and play at a pea gravel area with a new water play. Birds can be observed at the new bird houses. Two new veggie boxes can be planted, so the children can grow and take care of small plants outdoors.
