In 2025, construction began on the renovation of the Buena Vista Horace Mann (BVHM) K-8 school in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood.  BASE was pleased to have the opportunity contribute to the solution for the interim location of the BVHM campus at the Luther Burbank School while their Mission campus is being improved. Tasked with installing a temporary playscape at Luther Burbank, BASE transformed the concrete courtyard into a nature play oasis, surrounded with informal gathering spaces, a net climber, a new amphitheater, and activity walls at the perimeter.  This temporary space provides interest and challenges for the wide age-range of students who will call it home for the next few years.
